Job Title: Humanities Instructor - Specialty Focus (full-time, tenure-track position)

Duties: This full-time tenure track teaching position requires a strong commitment to teaching and to the use of technology and innovation in the delivery of instruction. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to infuse new approaches into the teaching and learning process. Demonstrate evidence of commitment to student success through excellence in teaching and learning, HUM – Specialty Instructor Teach African and Middle Eastern Humanities, Asian and Oceanic Humanities, LGBTQ+ Humanities, and Native American/Indigenous Humanities courses. Participate as an active member of the Fine Arts and Humanities Department and the college community in regard to departmental planning, meetings and service on college-wide committees. During the first semester, all courses taught by the selected applicant will be face-to-face. Instructor may have the opportunity to complete the online training to teach online beginning the second semester. Education/Experience: Master's degree in Humanities or a Master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate hours in Humanities required. Minimum five years teaching experience with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds at high school/college/university level required. Specialty Focus Demonstrate evidence of commitment to student success through teaching and learning Demonstrate knowledge of African and Middle Eastern, Asian and Oceanic, LGBTQ+, and Native American/Indigenous Humanities topics. Experience developing and teaching face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses. Experience in academic program development and division participation. Background in high school/college/university service and strong willingness to participate in departmental activities and projects such as serving on committees, taskforces, mentoring, etc. Use of various teaching methods (i.e.. PowerPoint, Canvas LMS, etc.) Excellent interpersonal skills. Position Status: Full Time
Hours: Hours to be determined. Minimum Starting Rate: Mid $50's + Exceptional benefits
