The Watering Bowl, cage-free doggy daycare, is looking for a Human Resources Manager to help continue to grow and improve an ever-expanding team of other dog lovers. At The Watering Bowl, we strive to be the absolute best organization of our kind and a top-notch team is essential to that goal. From recruiting and on-boarding to benefits, compensation and employee engagement, you would be integral in helping grow and develop the best team in our industry. We are seeking someone to help us continue the success we have experienced to this point as well as bring new ideas to the table on ways we can improve.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt workers; writes and places advertisements; screens and interviews candidates; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations ; conducts exit interviews Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures ; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans; reviews benefits with employees and process enrollment, cancellation or changes; organizes and manage annual open enrollment communications and election process; verifies benefit billing accuracy and processes for payment Administers payroll biweekly in Paychex Flex ; helps maintain financial information for all four stores; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and employee retention program and revises as necessary Develops a sound understanding of the daily responsibilities of all team members Makes regular visits to all locations to address any issues and develop relationships with staff Serves as a reliable listener to all staff members and aiding in problem solving with staff as necessary Establishes and maintains department records and reports; participates in management meetings; maintains organizational charts and employee directory Coaches, counsels and guides managers before executing significant employee disciplinary actions Tracks all employee disciplinary action and promotions in Caravus Connect (Employee Navigator) Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Reports, maintains and monitors all workers' compensation case files; follows-up on open cases Maintains and process all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner Benefits of Joining Our Team: Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance Bring your dog to work PTO Retirement Plan Matching Annual Wellness Plan Veterinary Reimbursement Health & Wellness Reimbursement Experience: At least 2-3 years of professional Human Resources experience required, preferably in a generalist role
Education: Bachelor's Degree required
Certifications: SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
Schedule requirements: This job is 8am-5pm Monday through Friday, but also participates in a rotating on-call schedule on occasional weekends
