Description:
This role will assist with the isolation of primary cells from human umbilical cord and be responsible for the routine culture of these cells. They will provide assistance with cell culture of primary cells isolated from liver and kidney tissue samples. They will also be responsible for maintaining detailed laboratory records, equipment and inventory in accordance with written procedures and helping with changing experimental needs.
- Maintain expansion cultures of adherent primary endothelial, liver and kidney cells. Including performing plating activities, routine media changes, passaging cells for expansion and creating cryopreserved stocks.
- Record and maintain data in accordance and protocols.
- Aseptically prepare solutions and supplies required for isolation and culture activities.
- Safe handling and disposal of biohazardous materials.
- Maintain research suite in appropriate order which includes disinfection of incubators, floors and work surfaces.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Monitor and maintain inventory or team laboratory supplies.
- Assist staff with R&D experimental protocols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in life sciences
1-2 years of industry experience within a lab
1-2 years of experience with mammalian cell culture
