High School Senior Educator Internship Project (HSSEIP) Student Intern - Work-Based Learning Program
Assist in the planning and implementation of daily educational activities for students in the Springfield Public Schools to provide supervision, personal needs (hygiene/nutrition), student support and instruction and other related duties assigned by a supervisor. This position will assist the program in providing quality education Services (literacy, learning and personal care) to Pre/K - 8 th grade school students in the Springfield Public Schools.
JOB DUTIES
Assists with weekly planning and implementing of daily educational activities for students. Assists Teacher in maintaining an attractive, safe and healthy learning environment (classroom) that is appropriate to the developmental level and learning style of the students. Confers with the Teacher as to definite responsibilities and schedules to be carried out in the classroom. Makes observations (written and/or verbal notations) of the students. Assists the Teacher with organizing materials, supplies and lessons. Provides appropriate staff-child interactions with the children Supports the social, emotional, physical and developmental needs of each child. Maintains good communication with parents and co-workers. Assists with preparation of inventory of classroom supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at student enrolled in School-to-Career, Work-Based Learning Program at their school. A senior student who is interested in pursuing a career in education Must be placed in a K-8 classroom to qualify for funding Must be able to assist teacher with implementing program's curriculum and conducting assessments of student's performance Must be able to assist teacher with developing and implementing lesson plans that meet the needs of all students assigned to the classroom. Must possess a positive attitude, flexible and able to work with diverse groups of people Must be sensitive to the needs of people and prior work experience with diverse Page 2 of 3 populations (ethnically, socially and economically). Must be able to work with all parents Must be able to accurately enter data into the computer.
