FLSA Status: Non Exempt GENERAL PURPOSE
The Office of Human Resources and Talent Development (HRTD) strives to make Stafford County Public Schools (SCPS) the employer of choice for instructional, administrative, and service employees in pursuit of the strategic goals of the school division. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Staffing, the Staffing Specialist is responsible for conducting the onboarding process for a designated group of employees, which may include licensed, service, and/or hourly employees. The Staffing Specialist will also serve as a staffing business partner to a designated group of administrators and hiring managers, and assist administrators in monitoring ongoing eligibility and managing performance of employees. MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain accurate position records and advertise available positions Assist HR Operations in maintaining an accurate position control by advertising all vacant positions and promptly unposting all filled positions. Consult with the HR Generalist for Recruitment and Assistant Director for Staffing on specialized recruitment or advertising needs for positions. Communicate with designated administrators and hiring managers concerning offers pending, offers accepted or declined. Maintain an accurate list of vacancies for posting online and communication with job candidates and hiring managers. Onboarding New Hires and Offboarding Resignations/Retirements Review applicant materials to verify eligibility for positions and communicate eligibility deficiencies to candidates and/or hiring managers. Contact identified applicants to offer positions, process offers in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and monitor submission of onboarding documents. Maintain data integrity in the ERP and other HR information systems (HRIS) to establish and improve core transactional HR processes as well as data entry. Inputs, updates and processes employee information into our systems including, but not limited to, new hires, transfers, promotions, salary adjustments and terminations. Resolves errors as required to maintain data integrity. Support and demonstrate core values of Human Resources and Talent Development Engage in ongoing professional development relevant to position. Respond promptly and thoroughly to written and oral requests for information. Maintain a clean, neat appearance, appropriate to position. Maintain a record of appropriate attendance and punctuality. Serve as an optimal role model for students, colleagues, and the general public. Work in close harmony with colleagues, supervisors, and co-workers. Keep Assistant Director of Staffing abreast of any issues pertaining to staffing. Comply with all District and School policies and regulations, including but not limited to guidelines for confidentiality. Perform other related duties as required/assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Associate's degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university is required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred. At least two (2) years of experience in related areas such as recruitment, selection, training, employee benefits, and/or equal opportunity compliance preferred. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge Knowledge of School Division organization and instructional programs. Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Knowledge of human resources functions including, but not limited to, contracting and recruitment/selection. Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving employment, HR, and HR policies. Skills Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS (Munis) and similar employee management software. The work is light work, requiring exertion of up to 20 pounds of force to move or lift objects.
