Some of the things you will do as an HR Specialist Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that improve the employee experience, enhance work flow, and/or improve the work environment. Develop, prepare, generate and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to employee personnel information and data, including issues such as staffing levels/deployment, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, applicant tracking, affirmative action/EEO, compensation, promotions, etc. Effectively utilize the data processing system to obtain, store and analyze pertinent data and information. Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resource management. Identify trends that could affect the agency's objectives and/or operational resources. Interpret appropriate laws and policies and advise management, employees and retirees accordingly. Answer employee questions as needed. Prepare, distribute and collect applicant paperwork and review for completeness. Prepare, distribute and collect new hire and benefits paperwork for processing. Conduct appropriate credentialing for new hires including criminal background checks, reference checking, abuse registry checks, sexual offender registry checks, OIG, and certification/licensure checks. Verify and maintain up to date records for TB skin test, Hepatitis B, CPR cards etc, as applicable. Create and maintain accurate and secure active, inactive and confidential employee files and I-9 binder. Data entry of all employment related information as required. Submit status change forms to payroll for processing (new hires, terms, transfers, status changes, performance review increases, etc.) Assist with the coordination and implementation of employee recognition programs. Provide previous employment verifications upon request. Respond to unemployment claims. Assist with direct deposit. Assist with processing bonuses to submit to payroll (attendance, quarterly, survey, sign-on, etc.). Assist with preparation and coordination of various trainings including New Hire Orientation, Sexual Harassment, and full staff in-services etc. Maintain a record of due dates for all needed documentation including performance reviews and notify directors in advance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred. High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of one (1) year of related experience. Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, Internet and Intranet navigation. Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of agency objectives. Quality Private Duty Care is an Equal Opportunity Employer
