Your Role As a Human Resources Representative, you will serve as a trusted team member and catalyst, steering our academic community toward excellence. Foster positive relationships by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and providing guidance on HR policies and procedures. Manage the recruitment process by posting job openings, coordinating interviews, and collaborating with hiring managers to identify suitable candidates. Coordinate new employee onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires through orientation programs and necessary paperwork. Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other related matters. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and regulations to ensure HR policies and practices are compliant and up-to-date. Support performance appraisal processes, provide guidance on setting performance goals, and assist in addressing performance-related issues. Collaborate with departments to identify growth areas, empowering our team with transformative training and development programs. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations. Mediate disputes and conflicts, striving to create a positive and inclusive work environment. Prepare regular HR reports and analytics, helping leadership make informed decisions to elevate our community. Contribute to initiatives that enhance employee engagement, morale, and satisfaction. Participate in HR projects and initiatives, such as diversity and inclusion efforts, policy updates, and process improvements. Where You'll Be Located Winona or Minneapolis, MN
Physical Demands Sedentary work. Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
Physical Hazards – Health and Safety Concerns General office environments Ergonomics What You Will Need Education & Experience Bachelor's degree with a major or concentration in Human Resources Management is required. In lieu of an HR major/concentration, a professional certificate in Human Resources is acceptable. Office experience preferred No HR experience needed Knowledge & Skills Exceptional communication skills, combining empathy with strategic problem-solving. Attention to detail paired with visionary thinking. Familiarity in HR software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Energetic attitude, adaptability, and collaborative spirit. A thirst for learning and innovation, with dedication to making a difference. Interpersonal Skills: maintains confidentiality, demonstrates emotional intelligence, remains open to others' ideas, and exhibits willingness to try new things.
