Job Duties Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following functional areas: payroll & benefits, employee life cycle management (onboarding, exit …), training organization and implementation, performance management, employee relations, policy implementation, compliance reporting and employment & payroll law compliance.
Major Functional Areas and Description of Duties:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
HR Generalist tasks
Designs, plans, and implements human resources programs and policies for staffing, compensation, benefits, affirmative action plan, employee relations, training, and health and safety
Manage all compliance reporting such as EEO-1, Vets 4212, AAP, etc. annually and maintain records
Manage the employee life cycle procedure (onboarding, exit, performance reviews) in a growing organization
Create employee surveys, exit interviews, and gather necessary feedback
Responsible for Training Management and Administration
Responsible for HR Tool maintenance, process improvement and implementation
First point of contact for Management and all other employees for HR related questions
Participate in local & nationwide HR networking events/conferences to stay current of HR laws and procedures
Payroll & Benefit Administration tasks
Administers semimonthly payroll for 2 companies, 80+ employees total (hourly non-exempt and salaried exempt)
Processes employee changes
Experience with federal and multi-state payroll regulations & processing including compensation and benefits
Creates pay data batches in automated payroll system and verifies payroll correctness and distributes pay vouchers
Processes garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, quarterly/annual tax verifications and workers compensation reports
Performs year end responsibilities to include vehicle expenses, group term life, moving expenses, other taxable fringe benefits and W2
verification/distribution
Payroll tax, including filing monthly, quarterly, and yearly payroll tax returns, in addition to Federal and State taxes semimonthly and monthly.
Knowledgeable on Payroll tax laws, compensations, and benefits
Administers health, welfare and 401k retirement plans including enrollment and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll, insurance and retirement plan providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions. Serves as COBRA administrator for the Company.
Coordinates with insurance companies to resolve employee insurance issues.
Assists annual open enrollment period during the 4th quarter of each year.
Perform other Human Resource & Payroll related tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in Human Resources and Payroll & Benefits
Bachelor's Degree in human resources or a related field
PHR or SHRM certified is a plus
