Full job description We have an incredible role for an HR/Payroll Manager with a workforce of approximately 120-150 employees in the service/construction/engineering space. We are seek a skilled HR/Payroll Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources and payroll functions within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR management, payroll administration, and a deep understanding of employment laws and regulations in the service industry.
Responsibilities HR Management: Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business objectives. Oversee recruitment and selection processes, including job postings, screening candidates, and conducting interviews. Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions and compliance with company policies. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related issues, including performance management, employee relations, and disciplinary actions. Develop and administer HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Coordinate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and promote career growth. Payroll Administration: Oversee payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payroll disbursement. Maintain payroll records and employee data, including time and attendance, bonuses, and deductions. Calculate and process payroll taxes, benefits, and other deductions in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations, and ensure payroll practices remain compliant. Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies or issues in a timely manner. Prepare payroll reports and analysis for management review. Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks. Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries, ensuring a positive employee experience. Collaborate with benefit providers to resolve issues and optimize benefits offerings. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry standards. Prepare and file required reports, such as EEO-1, OSHA logs, and other regulatory filings. Conduct internal audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures. Qualifications: 5 + years experience in Human Resources and Payroll in the service/construction/engineering industry. In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Proficiency in payroll software and HRIS systems, with the ability to learn new systems quickly. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels. Demonstrated leadership abilities and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
