We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join our growing Human Resources team as an HR Generalist. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the HR department and serve as the primary point of contact and support for employees within your assigned region.
As an HR Generalist, you will have the unique opportunity to interact with employees at all levels across the company, allowing you to learn the business from multiple perspectives. Top performers will be eligible for growth opportunities locally and nationally within our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide recruitment support, including posting job openings, screening applicants, and scheduling interviews.
- Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for all new hires (remote and on-site), including sending/receiving/entering documentation, conducting orientation, and providing HR systems training.
- Facilitate and participate in employee engagement activities, such as team-building exercises, corporate social responsibility initiatives, employee recognition programs, and company events.
- Contribute to positive employee relations by actively listening and appropriately responding to employee issues, concerns, and feedback in a timely manner.
- Generate reports, conduct analysis, and provide input to assist the HR Manager with the development of employee relations strategies, continuous improvement initiatives, and other projects.
- Clearly communicate and consistently administer HR policies and practices.
- Assist employees and managers in your assigned region with timekeeping, performance management, health and safety issues, and disciplinary actions.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as recommended best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as an HR Generalist
- Demonstrated experience in recruitment and onboarding, coordinating employee engagement events, managing timekeeping records for multiple departments/locations, and performing disciplinary actions
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Positive disposition and outgoing personality
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and compartmentalize information
- Self-directed with a high level of productivity and personal organization while dealing with frequent interruptions
- Ability to plan, organize tasks, and work responsibilities to achieve goals and objectives while remaining calm and professional under pressure
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including the ability to perform VLOOKUPs in Excel
- Willingness to travel up to 20% to branches within the assigned region (Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas)
