Job Description and Duties The MCQMD has an opening for  The Health Program Specialist  located at 1501 Capitol Avenue in Sacramento.
The Health Program Specialist (HPS) I independently and in a lead capacity acts as a highly skilled, technical program consultant in the area of policy development, analysis, implementation, and monitoring of Medi-Cal Managed Care programs. The HPS I will be the lead DHCS liaison with Medi-Cal managed care plans (MCPs), including, obtaining and incorporating stakeholder feedback from external and internal public entities, in developing and writing policy that focuses on increasing access to student behavioral health services.    The HPS I performs functions that are sensitive and critical to the Department's basic mission, with responsibility t o research and analyze related legislations, development policy and procedures, and coordinate high-level projects varying in scope and complexity. This position exercises a degree of independence and understanding of the proposal to increase access of behavioral health services in schools. This recruitment has been posted for more vacancies than currently exist as it may be used to fill additional identical vacancies which occur within 180 days of the closing date of this bulletin.

This position is Limited Term. Hires may be made for up to 12 months. The position may become permanent if funding is approved through HR and the Budget process.

Working Conditions Telework may be available 80% of the time.

Telework is based on operational needs for employees who can perform their essential functions remotely and/or whose duties are conducive to teleworking per DHCS' Telework Policy and in accordance with Government Code Sections 14200 – 14203 for employees residing in California
