Serenely located within the historic Kansas City Club building, this premier Kansas City destination seamlessly combines the old-world charm of a historic social club with modern luxury and elegance. Drawing on over 100 years of history as the premier social meeting place, The Hotel Kansas City provides a truly unique setting for memorable events, as well as inventive dining and nightlife.
In addition to the hotel's 144 guest rooms are the Town Company restaurant; Nighthawk, a live music cellar cocktail bar; and a lobby lounge and bar that will bring locals and guests together for impromptu mingling. For the event minded guests, there will be 20,000 feet of meeting space that includes impressive historic ballrooms and a 3,000 square foot rooftop event patio.
Banquet Captains are experienced and the finest of banquet servers. This role leads other associates by coaching, giving direction and may include training. They are responsible for making the function space visually appealing and leading the event from start to end. This may include linen and table setting, food station design, and beverage service. Other duties include general banquet preparation, room refreshes, and maintaining a sanitary environment. Qualifications Previous experience working as a Banquet Captain in an upscale, luxury and/or boutique hotel is preferred
Alcohol and Food Handlers Certifications required
A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
Refined verbal communication skills
Ability to lift, push and pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Must have schedule flexibility to work days, early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
