Job Description: The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America's premier luxury wine company. We were established in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn. Today, our portfolio features some of North America's most revered wineries, including Decoy, Paraduxx, Goldeneye, Migration, Canvasback, Calera, Kosta Browne, Greenwing and Postmark.
The Hospitality & Retail Sales Manager is the operational backbone of the tasting room, leading the team to deliver world-class hospitality and achieve budgetary revenue goals. This includes oversight of the physical facilities, administrative and operational procedures, and personnel. Accordingly, the Manager sets the daily standard providing exemplary hospitality, both internal and external, through strategic planning and preparation for the unexpected. This individual must be solution-oriented, possessing both problem solving and collaborative abilities. The manager champions the promotion of department sales, brand building, and achievement of the overall objectives of the departments.
What we will ask you to do:
• Develop and maintain qualified and enthusiastic team to exceed The Duckhorn Portfolio service standards
• Deliver exceptional guest service through active management of consumer programming and education of team members to share our luxury wines
• Create and supervise adherence to service standards in visitors center, mentoring the Canvasback tasting room team members accordingly
• Promote and deliver upon the monthly outlined Sales and Wine Club objectives assigned to the Canvasback retail team through educational and engaging tasting options
• Maintain and evolve the Standard Operating Procedures set for the Canvasback retail program
• Work in collaboration with the Hospitality & Fulfillment Coordinator for successful wine transfers, tax paid and wine cellar organization and assisting in the success execution of in-state (WA) wine club runs
What you will need:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in winery or other hospitality management/operations
• Team leader with a desire to educate employees and take care of our customers
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to anticipate customer needs and react appropriately
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and select holidays
• Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills
• Computer proficiency (preferred, not required)
• Ability to travel as needed (up to 10% of the time)
• Valid Driver's License and insurable MVR
