The Hospital Chief Executive ( HCE ) is responsible for 24 hour operations of Rust Medical Center located in Rio Rancho, NM. You are also responsible for the integration of Service Line activities within Presbyterian Rust Campus to ensure effective organization and engagement of medical staff , efficient operations, compliance with licensure, accreditation and council initiatives, efficient use of facilities , safe and timely patient flow, effective delivery of support services , and uniformly excellent patient experience .
Master's Degree in health care administration or health-related field and/or business required. 5 years of progressively responsible leadership positions in a complex health-care system CEO experience preferred but may consider COO experience if in a 200+ bed facility within a regional health care delivery system. Fellowship in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE ) preferred or a willingness to attain In-depth knowledge of all aspects of hospital administration, healthcare industry, business development, financial management. Leadership skills with emphasis on collaboration, planning, and process improvement. This role is a highly visible position so frequent rounding within and around the hospital and associated spaces required with an emphasis on approachability and accountability. Will serve to support PHS Senior VP, Chief Operating Officer as assigned for coverage needs at times. Serves on the city-wide administrator-on-call rotation. Develop Medical staff leaders, both formal and informal, who engage in setting the strategic direction, identity and clinical delivery on the campus. Accountable for physician participation in planning, physician adoption of core measure and council initiatives and physician satisfaction. Deploy a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety that ensures the successful adoption of best practice. Deploy and Participate in standard adoption of order sets and best practices from Service Lines and Councils. Deploy and Participate in opportunities to spread or standardize best practices among service lines. Oversee, execute and participate in action plans based on reported events, near misses and FMEA s. Informed of all serious events. Accountable for development and effective operation of a Kaseman Patient Advisory Group to obtain voice of the customer. Participate in voice of the customer surveillance through rounding and complaint management to identify OFI s in the customer experience and gaps between service lines, departments or processes. Accountable for achieving key customer loyalty measures. Accountable for deployment of a patient-centered culture that ensures an exceptional patient experience. Accountable for positive facility identity, consistent with PHS brand. Accountable for operation of support service departments on Rust Campus. Maintain a dotted line reporting relationship for manager/supervisor of each support service department on Rust Campus. Deploy and Participate in open and positive communication among departments, service line leadership, medical staff, and the public. Serves as a role model by participating in bundles and leader expectations (e.g. Rounding, Thank You Notes, Compliance Tests). Assignments are completed early and completely. Celebrate employee/team successes through recognition systems. Develop relationships with physicians and service line leaders in the coordination & planning of activities related to patient care services; ensures staff and physician engagement Develops and Participates in succession plans for key reporting leadership roles; supports EE participants Provide timely effective feedback / Completes annual HPP evaluation of direct reports. Oversees and Participates in development of budget for all departments on Rust Campus. Develops and manages capital budget for Rust Campus development. Execute revenue cycle action plans/mgmt variance plans/reports Oversees operating budget, revenue and expenditures for assigned departments. Analyzes and reports fiscal activity, makes recommendations to Service Line leaders, and/or takes appropriate action. Accountable for facility financial performance unless variances are identified expressly waived based on service line or council initiative. Oversee and participate in process to prioritize service line requests for resources at the facility. Identify and prevent unnecessary duplication of services. Participate in Lean/Six Sigma improvement projects (formal PEPs and informal projects) Deploy and Participate in automation projects (implementation, upgrades, enhancements, etc) Execute and Participate in immediate interventions for daily operational issues. Deploy, Oversee and Participate in Disaster Management plan. Oversee and Execute disaster plans when activated at a campus level. Accountable for efficient utilization of the campus. Accountable for execution of initiatives related to patient flow. Accountable for facility compliance with PHS/hospital established policies, JCAHO, State licensure and other regulatory standards; safety, environmental, and legal requirements; infection control policies and procedures. Participates in performance improvement. Assists in developing facility policies, procedures, and work flows. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, current literature and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends. Deploy and Participate in strategy of national excellence through regular participation on assigned Baldrige teams. Participates in a highly collaborative manner with service line administrators, directors and nursing leaders to accomplish goals related to standardization and transfer of best practices. Accountable for campus compliance with PHS policies and procedures. Accountable for leading and achieving results of throughput and development projects in CDS as assigned. Maintains collaborative partnerships with external agencies. Accountable for effective campus planning, growth and development.

The compensation range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to experience and training, internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
