Clark County Health Department has a position opening for a full-time Outreach Tester. This position reports to the Program Director. The usual days and hours are Monday- Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm but some evening and weekends hours will be required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: Testing and Counseling Conduct HIV, syphilis and hepatitis C testing via STI/ rapid test to participants eligible to receive services Conduct pre and post test counseling to eligible participants Prepare and handle samples for shipment utilizing universal precaution Present results to participants in a non-judgmental, empathetic manner Provide testing services in each of the fourteen (14) counties CCHD serves at least quarterly Follow universal precautions and biohazard regulations Provide SSP/Harm reduction services Maintain confidentiality at all times Travel is required Community Outreach Attend CCHD/HHAC sponsored community events Ensure all information being presented to the public is up to date and current Program promotion Reporting Document all activity according to the policies and procedures of the ISDH Prevention Program. Enter all data pertinent to program activity into appropriate databases Complete all required reports (ISDH, CAG, etc.) Collaboration Attend monthly meetings with CCHD staff Collaborate with regional health department staff to provide referrals to DIS when participants have a positive test result Provide referrals to Care Coordination when participants have an HIV positive test result Perform other duties as assigned in connection with CCHD Experience, Education and Requirements High School Diploma or GED Knowledge of HIV/STD, hepatitis C and substance use strongly preferred.
