Historic Preservation Architect

Seeking a full-time Preservation Architect with 5 to 15 years of experience on a variety of projects across heritage, cultural, learning, and multi-family housing practice areas involving both new construction and adaptive use renovations. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication, design, technical, and organizational skills and is experienced in all phases of design and construction. The position will require working closely with project team members and principals to successfully produce articulate and technically strong project documents to execute quality projects.

ResponsibilitiesParticipate in field assignments such as conditions and measurement surveysPrepare analysis of existing conditions and treatment options in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic PropertiesParticipate in all stages of project development, performing conceptual analysis documentation assignments, and developing CDs elements with limited supervisionParticipate in design review and documentation to meet State Historic Preservation Office and consulting agency requirementsAssist in the coordination of drawings and specificationsAssist in construction observation activities and the development of associated field reports, RFI responses, submittal reviews, and ASIsContribute to collaborative and effective working relationships with clients, the project team, and associated stakeholders

QualificationsAn architectural degree and historic preservation degree or certificate with a minimum of 5 years of experienceProactive communication, collaborative problem solving, three-dimensional thinking, and self-directionStewardship planning, writing, graphic analysis, and preservation designWorking understanding of current and historic building and site technologiesProficiency with Revit, Sketch-up, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
