Responsibilities
• Respond to emergency roadway and severe weather events• Prepare/clean up work zones and perform traffic control• Demonstrate proper work site safety and protection techniques• Complete pre-trip inspections and perform preventive maintenance• Clear drainage pipes and ditches• Cut brush• Pot-hole patching• Set up work zones• Perform diverse skilled and manual labor tasks
Requirements
• Ability to follow safety policies, procedures, and programs• Knowledge of roadway and roadside maintenance equipment, materials, and methods• Experience in operation of equipment used in highway maintenance/construction• Ability to perform heavy manual labor• Skill in the operation and maintenance of hand and power tools• Ability to obtain CDL and DOT medical card within 11 months of employment• Ability to work in inclement weather and respond to accidents and emergencies• Valid CDL and applicable endorsements preferred• Recent experience with heavy manual labor and heavy equipment operation preferred• Flagger certification and work zone set-up experience preferred
