As a testament to their remarkable growth, they are currently expanding their service center in the Atlanta, GA area (near Duluth, GA). As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing and repairing their equipment in the field.
Requirements:Technical certificate in an electrical or mechanical related field3-5+ years of High Voltage Substations and equipment (>69kV) - stand alone transformers/breakers (inside the fence)
, doing field assignments, erection, testing and repair.Proven leadership experience coordinating and leading crew on electrical projects installation.Experience working with Power UtilitiesReading of electrical drawings and schematicsKnowledge of operating test equipment, such as CB timers, power factor, TTR, conductor, CT testers, Megger.Familiarity with Windows applicationsB.S. degree preferred, not required.
Responsibilities:Perform field service operations that present usual or unusual problems requiring solid technical skills.Execute or supervise the installation and commissioning of high voltage substation equipment (69kV through 550kV)Supervise electricians and contractors.Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on High Voltage equipment.Troubleshoot and repair equipment, applying own knowledge and experience.Perform and document field tests such as electrical tests, SF6 leak detection, gas analysis, timing, power factor, contact resistance.Compile and evaluate data to determine and resolve operating problems or malfunctions.Conduct inspections to determine necessary maintenance and repairs and assist in determining resource requirements.Develop recommendations and prepare written reports.Maintain detailed records and logs.Recommend changes such as new equipment or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
