Full-time Onsite Our Award Winning Client is a nationally recognized company that has received numerous accolades for its exceptional work in the heavy civil construction industry.
Position Overview: We are seeking a qualified individual to join our team as an Estimator. This role will involve estimating heavy civil infrastructure projects with various scopes of work including removals, grading, concrete structures, and related areas. The successful candidate will work closely with other estimators, project managers, and the Chief Estimator. Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities: Perform thorough review of project specifications, plans, and Geotech Report. Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to determine site conditions. Identify self-performed and subcontracted scopes of work. Solicit subcontractors and material supplies, including any requirements for DBE or SBE's subcontractors. Develop bid packages for subcontractors and material suppliers' scopes of work and send out RFQs. Proficiently prepare estimates by performing take-offs and setting up estimate files. Utilize estimating software to input subcontractor and material supplier quotes and make awards. Conduct bid review sessions with Chief Estimator and Management Team. Make timely decisions, close-out bids, and submit bid documents as directed. Maintain a positive attitude and collaborate effectively with team members. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field. Minimum 5 years of heavy civil/roadway estimating experience. Proficiency in estimating software such as HCCS, Heavy Bid, AGTEK, OST, P6, Excel, or equivalent. Strong technical skills in removals, grading, concrete structures, aggregate placement, asphalt paving, and airport runways. US Citizenship or Green Card Holders only apply. Candidate Details: 5+ to 7 years of experience Seniority Level: Mid-Senior Management Experience Required: No Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree Willingness to Travel: Occasionally Ideal Candidate: We are seeking a self-starter with experience in heavy civil construction estimating and building structures. The ideal candidate must possess a degree and extensive experience with bottom-up estimating in estimating software.
