Heavy Civil Foreman/Operator Duties
Job Brief:
The position will provide leadership for the day-to-day responsibilities of the crew. This includes: the planning of work, scheduling of material and trucks, supervision of employees & support staff (e.g. flaggers), etc. This individual will also be charged with the responsibility for safety, quality, productivity and cost. Professional daily interaction with the general public and transportation officials is also required.
Job Responsibilities:
· Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
· Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew
· Allocate general and daily responsibilities
· Supervise and train workers
· Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
· Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
· Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
· Resolve problems when they arise
· Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.
Job Requirements:
· Proven experience as construction foreman and Must have experience with heavy civil/grade work, equipment operating with GPS
· In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSH guidelines
· Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
· Excellent organizational and leadership skills
· Ability to communicate and report effectively
· Aptitude in math
· Problem-solving abilities
· Good physical condition and stamina
· High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.
Must be able to pass MVR Check.
