JOB AD:
Assists in running the school program.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help teachers improve curriculum and instruction by observing classrooms and providing resources.
- Design, implement, and evaluate programs to prevent discipline problems and assist in resolving student issues.
- Identify areas for staff development and assist in creating training programs.
- Supervise and evaluate co-curricular and extra-curricular programs.
- Assist with communication to parents and the community, and develop programs to involve parents and community members.
- Collaborate with staff to develop policies and evaluate their impact.
- Help identify factors that influence the school program.
- Maintain a calendar of school activities.
- Conduct research and complete surveys.
- Manage assigned staff, assign responsibilities, provide training, and evaluate performance.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive school environment that promotes academic success for all students.
- Support the mission of the District and maintain a positive workplace environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's Degree in Education or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Principal's license from the State of Minnesota.
- Knowledge of district policies, curriculum requirements, state and federal education laws, and management practices.
- Proficient in computer applications, oral presentations, and business English.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of Restorative Practice/Restorative Justice in K-12 Education.
- Familiarity with Trauma-Informed Teaching Practices.
- Understanding of Special Education laws and regulations.
- Experience with MTSS interventions and inclusive practices.
- Ability to support Special Education teams and implement Positive Behavior Support Plans.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Mobility to work in an office setting and use standard office equipment.
- Stamina to sit for extended periods of time.
- Strength to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Vision to read materials and computer screens.
- Hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office setting within a school building.
