POSITION TITLE (Oracle title) SENIOR ADMINISTRATOR
WORKING TITLE Senior Administrator-Health Services Compliance

WORK WEEK SCHEDULE Monday-Friday (occasional evenings and weekends)
POSITION PURPOSE: Designs, implements, and maintains programs, policies, and practices to ensure compliance with Board of Education policies and federal, state, and local regulations. Performs quality assurance audits at schools including, but not limited to, controlled substance administration/discrepancies, medication administration/storage, health room requirements, stock epinephrine training documentation, and administrative reporting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs) Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatments; Considerable knowledge of child growth and development; Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Apps; Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services; Ability to comply with Wake County Public School Systems' (WCPSS) confidentiality policies and procedures; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback; Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; Ability to use advance assessment skills in autonomous situations to make nursing judgments regarding complex student needs; Ability to pay attention to detail and have a high level of accuracy; Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, without direct oversight; Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with school system staff, students, parents, external agencies, and the community. EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; Three years of experience in pediatrics, school health, public health, or other related nursing field; Experience using the student information system (PowerSchool) and the Every Child Accountability and Tracking System (ECATS); Experience using the North Carolina Immunization Registry (NCIR). An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS State of North Carolina Nursing license; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification; Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license according to the State of North Carolina requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Designs, implements, and maintains programs, policies, and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Directs the collection and analysis of data to meet compliance requirements and in response to findings and recommendations of internal and external audits. Conducts analyses of current practices and reporting level of compliance to the Senior Director of Health Services. Evaluates the effectiveness of WCPSS compliance obligations and efforts; provides guidance to contracted employees on best practices related to compliance. Consults, collaborates, and/or coordinates internal investigations of compliance issues, working with the specific departments who are the subject matter experts. Assists WCPSS' Senior Director of Health Services (Human Resources-Employee Health Officer) to serve schools and Central Services in providing staff training and health consultations as related to WCPSS Board of Education Policy State and Federal mandated programs (OSHA, Bloodborne Pathogens-Exposure Reporting), Diabetes Awareness, Training and Action-DATA, System-wide communicable disease response and reporting. Assists school staff with understanding immunizations, health findings, and other relevant health data. Assists in providing 24/7 on call rotation for communicable disease response, reporting, and health related issues. Attends workshops and other educational programs to increase nursing knowledge and skills. Performs reviews of student immunization records, as needed. Performs other related duties, as assigned. WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, students, parents, staff members of external funding agencies, and the community. Work is considered medium physical work, requiring the exertion of up to 40 pounds of force. The work frequently requires activities involving driving automotive equipment and physically accessing schools.
