Job summary
The Head of Manufacturing, Parenteral Filling leads and directs all departmental and cross-functional activities associated with the Parenteral Operations facility at Biogen's RTP Pharma site.The role provides leadership and strategy in all areas of parenteral filling to ensure an uninterrupted supply of quality products to our customers within the Biogen global drug supply network.

Responsibilities
• Oversee all business and manufacturing matters for Parenteral Filling operations; establishing and refining an operational vision that ensures the highest standards of employee safety, environmental protection, compliance, operational excellence, and cost performance targets.• Develop near and long-term strategy and plans associated with new product introductions, demand increase, facility utilization, and capital spending; ensuring that appropriate policies and procedures are in place to accurately measure, monitor, and report actual versus planned results.• Identify, design, implement, and measure programs to improve operational performance.• Build organizational and operational capacity to meet the needs of the business, embody the Biogen core behaviors & leadership competencies, and provide thoughtful and high-quality leadership to the organization.• Ensure synergy between the long-range financial plans (LRP), Global Manufacturing operating strategy, PO&T strategic direction and overall corporate objectives.• Manage and influence operational advancements and synergies with cross-functional groups to include Site Supply Chain, Global Engineering and Facilities, Training, IT, Finance, HR, and Quality.• Ensure department goals and objectives are aligned to support and site global operations strategy.• Ensure a high level of communication and coordination between the production operations and the support departments to address issues and meet production schedules.• Resolve operational, manufacturing and facility issues to ensure minimal costs and prevention of operational delays.• Confer with department heads on all critical decisions, identification of issues and problem resolution to ensure concurrence and limit adverse operational impact.• Prepare, review, and approve of Manufacturing accounting analysis for budgetary planning and implementation, production efficiency, financial reporting, and submittal of capital expenditures.• Support corporate/local business development activities and develop relationships with key local counterparts.• Own talent management and succession planning actions plus operations employee engagement and retention strategy.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university with an emphasis on Biotechnology, Life Sciences, and/or Engineering (Master's Degree preferred)• Minimum of 15 years of experience in biopharmaceutical operations• Minimum of 8 years of senior operations management experience• Excellent planning and organizational skills• Strong customer focus and ability to lead through ambiguity• Excellent understanding of the finance/budgeting process associated with manufacturing operations
