Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our exponentially growing R&D team as the Head of Data Science Research and Development. As a crucial member of our team, you will lead data science, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI) R&D activities, driving innovation and excellence in our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Designing sustainable data science solutions for commercial delivery
Leading data science R&D initiatives and providing mentorship to team members
Developing automation processes for data science tasks, including testing, validation, and model deployment
Contributing to new business development and marketing efforts related to data science, ML, and AI services
Identifying opportunities for product enhancement and future work in the AI/ML domain
Leading proposal writing for governmental funding opportunities
Requirements:
Demonstrable experience in developing and delivering AI or ML solutions for external customers, preferably in defense, aerospace, energy, or transportation/infrastructure sectors
Hands-on experience with AI/ML techniques such as computer vision, time-series analysis, prognostics, diagnostics, and predictive maintenance
Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Proficiency in data science programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and distributed platforms (e.g., Spark, Hadoop)
Minimum of 10 years' experience in data science, including 5 years in a leadership role
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or related field (Doctorate preferred)
Desirable Experience:
Prior experience in DoD or military projects
Doctorate degree in relevant technical field
Scholarly publications and/or patents related to data science
