Head Lifeguard

Direct Report Aquatics Director Employee Profile and Desired Traits ? High level emotional intelligence
? Active in team dynamics, conflict prevention /resolution , and identifying customer needs

Principle Responsibilities ? Teach aquatics-based merit badges and lessons
? Present in front of group sizes of 2-24 youth and transfer knowledge
? Turn in advancement paperwork to supervisor in a timely manner
? Assist with the set-up, maintenance, and take down of program areas
? Participate and exhibit Scout Spirit at camp-wide programs and activities
? Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working area
? Provide First Aid as needed
? Lead department staff, including admin items such as scheduling and training
? Other duties or projects as assigned by SBR leadership
? Abide by policies and procedure outlined in the SBR staff handbook

Qualifications & Training ? 18 years of age or older
? Comfortable speaking in front of groups of youth and adults
? Current lifeguard certification (BSA Lifeguard or Red Cross etc.)
? Required 1+ yr. leading teams, prefer 1+ Summit employment
? Previous training experience preferred
? Ability to use Microsoft Teams daily for work related communication and coordination
? Be or become a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America

Performance Results ? Provide at least one memorable moment that matters to a participant
? Contribute at least one improvement to Aquatics program operations
? Receive one or more Staff Appreciation Cards from staff or participants
? Complete contract period with 2-4 positive experiences

Physical Requirements ? Multiple hours a day of either standing, walking, paddling, swimming and ability to lift 50 lbs.
