Responsibilities
• Develops treatment plans and carries out treatment for patients• Monitors and documents progress as appropriate• Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department• Prepares work schedule, assigns OT staff as applicable, evaluates peer work performance• Upholds established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards• Ensures the delivery of quality therapy services for inpatients and outpatients• Consults with medical, nursing and administrative staff to coordinate patient care• Communicates observations, facts, and comments with interdisciplinary team members• Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs• Maintains personal, professional and institutional certifications and regulatory requirements• Performs Swing Bed activities assessments and monitors participation in the activities program
Requirements
• Licensed Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist required• Certified and/or registered as a Certified Hand Therapist required in the State of Louisiana• Previous experience as a Hand Therapist is preferred
