POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dedicated individual to support and enhance our school program. This role involves assisting with curriculum and instructional improvement, student discipline management, staff development, and community involvement. The successful candidate will work closely with department leaders, teachers, parents, and other staff members to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students. RESPONSIBILITIES: Advise and assist department leaders and teachers to improve curriculum and instruction by observing classrooms and providing access to resources Design, implement, and evaluate programs to prevent discipline problems and assist in resolving school issues Identify areas of staff development needs and contribute to the design and implementation of training programs Supervise and evaluate co-curricular and extra-curricular programs Assist with communication to parents and the community, and develop programs to engage them in the school program Identify areas for policy or change and collaborate with the principal and staff to develop and evaluate these policies Collaborate with the principal and school committees to identify ways to improve the school program Maintain a calendar of school activities Conduct research, prepare reports, and complete questionnaires and surveys Manage assigned staff, assign responsibilities and projects, resolve issues, and provide training and performance evaluations Promote a safe and inclusive school environment that supports academic excellence and success for all students Support the overall mission of the District and contribute to a positive workplace environment QUALIFICATIONS : Master's Degree in Education or a closely related field Two years of professional teaching experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Valid driver's license Principal's license from the State of Minnesota REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Familiarity with district policies and procedures Understanding of curriculum requirements and learning objectives Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing public education Ability to efficiently manage resources and apply cost-effective practices Proficiency in public sector administrative management, including planning, budgeting, and supervision Awareness of local community resources and training programs Effective oral and written communication skills Computer literacy PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Experience with Restorative Practice/Restorative Justice in K-12 Education Familiarity with Trauma-Informed Teaching Practices Strong knowledge of the Individual Disability Education Act and MN State regulations of Special Education Ability to support the implementation of MTSS interventions and inclusive practices Experience in supporting Special Education teams and implementing Positive Behavior Support Plans PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment, and sit for extended periods of time Capability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds Good vision for reading printed materials and computer screens Effective hearing and speech for in-person and telephone communication WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is primarily performed in an office setting within a school building. Occasional travel within the District may be required.
