JOB SUMMARY La Cocina's Grants and Contracts Manager is a highly skilled career professional who stands ready to architect a leading funding strategy on behalf of La Cocina. The successful candidate has a demonstrated record of building successful strategic fundraising plans and structures. Additionally, the successful Grants and Contracts Manager is expert at prospecting and identifying funding opportunities that are fully aligned with La Cocina's mission, vision and values; they spearhead and streamline grant application processes, write winning grant proposals, manage and track grant pipelines, and think critically about how to incorporate ancillary contracts to a holistic grants and contracts funding structure. The career professional also manages La Cocina's grants and contracts portfolio, and successfully executes on targeted business development funding initiatives as directed by the CEO and La Cocina's Executive Leadership team. La Cocina's Grants and Contracts Manager makes expert contributions that not only generate ongoing financial support , but which are aimed at long term sustainability for La Cocina's work and initiatives. Overall, the position strengthens La Cocina's capacity to continue building collective, long-lasting impact that is grounded on a Liberatory approach to Latine community mental healthcare.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Leads while working collaboratively with La Cocina's teams and leadership: La Cocina's Grants and Contracts Manager is a committed leader who works proactively and collaboratively by engaging in a team-centered approach Works strategically: The Grants and Contracts Manager is able to conceptualize, write, execute and report on short and long-term strategies that bolster the organization's funding sources and overall sustainability. Grant Sourcing and Prospecting: The successful candidate is able to identify and evaluate grant opportunities through networking, research, webinars and trainings, and by building strong relationships with funders, ensuring alignment with La Cocina's mission. Data Integrations Management: The Manager is highly skilled at integrating up-to-date and compelling data in ways that elevate the organization's grants and contracts applications and/or grant reports. Data Stewardship and Documents Architecture: Reviews, contributes to content, assembles and generally manages essential organizational documents, program data, and client narratives and/or testimonials that support effective grant applications. Leads Decisively: Collaborates with La Cocina's Executive Leadership to make decisions about grant opportunities, applications and best practices, focusing on fit, potential impact, and organizational capacity. Stellar Applications and/or Proposals: Writes grant applications and contract proposals by leading with clear and above-average narratives that support successful awards. This also includes working with the Operations Team to develop and submit professional budgets and financial documentation. Grants and Contracts Management: Oversees the submission process, tracks grants progress, and ensures compliance with reporting and evaluation requirements. Adept Use of Innovations & Technologies: Deploys their research skills to locate and integrate key innovations and technologies that enhance their work and outcomes overall. This item includes dedicating time to learning and becoming expert in the use of Monday.com, which La Cocina uses as a primary operative tool. Collaboration and Planning: The Manager works closely with all members of their team to execute on a coherent grants strategy, including leading meetings and presentations for grant planning, developing evaluation plans, and tracking deliverables against grant objectives in collaboration with other La Cocina teams. Grant and/or Contract Reporting: The Grants and Contracts Manager creates timelines and sets deadlines as needed to deliver on-time grant and/or contract reports, and tracks evidence of said submissions in La Cocina's project management software (Monday.com). Additional responsibilities may be assigned by La Cocina's CEO & Founder. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS At least four years' experience writing and managing grants and funding contracts with a track record of securing funding. Proficient managing multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously with demonstrable skill for how to build organizational structures that follow efficient and effective workflows. Expert at working in teams, especially nonprofit changemaking teams with a strong commitment to social justice. Able to articulate their commitment to social justice principles, maintaining a learners' stance that deepens understanding of the challenges faced by the communities and people served by La Cocina. Fluency in Spanish and English preferred. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's or post-graduate degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. At least four years' experience in grants management, including writing, submission, and reporting. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal. Excellent public speaking and/or presenting skills. Ability to train others is a plus. Familiarity with grant management software and platforms, and an orientation to incorporating innovative technologies that create better workflows. HOURS This is a full time, exempt position. WORK ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION This position may be based out of La Cocina's Fort Collins and/or Denver office(s), which qualifies it as a hybrid in-person and work-from-home position with three days required in-person, and no more than two days working from home. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about collaborating in-person with fellow team members, and attending twice per month all-staff meetings held in both Denver and Fort Collins. Additionally, the work requires some commuting to/from La Cocina's offices in both locations in order to attend and/or conduct meetings, build relationships with stakeholders and participate in key training opportunities. Some travel may be required both in Colorado and out of state.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS  The physical demands described herein represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. 
MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT USED Ability to operate all general office equipment including computer, printer, copier, fax, and phones. Must be able to learn and work with grants/contracts management software and La Cocina's project management application (Monday.com).
CLASSIFICATION & PAY  Annual salary between $75,000 to $85,000 depending on qualifications and experience. La Cocina seeks to be competitive in all hiring practices, and will therefore negotiate based on applicants professional experience, relevant skill set, and demonstrable alignment with La Cocina's needs and values.
