For full time employees HIRING SALARY RANGE: $60,000 - $72,000 per year POSITION SALARY RANGE: $60,000 - $90,000 per year SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:
Coordinate District fund development efforts, including grant writing, sponsorships, donor programs and other funding opportunities. Identify funding opportunities, and work with private and public funding agencies or philanthropists to negotiate opportunities. Utilize the results of District-level strategic planning processes to determine priorities for resource needs and to create competitive proposals to meet those needs. Contribute to District-level communications related to fundraising goals and awards. Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships for mutually beneficial opportunities between the District, and other organizations. Direct and implement needs assessment activities within the District, or community to identify essential funding requests. Develop and maintain a database of resource needs identified and of potential funding opportunities. SUPERVISED BY: Chief Operating Officer ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS: Grant Writing Identify District strategies appropriate for grant-funded opportunities. Identify appropriate federal, state and private grant opportunities for the District. Identify and present District funding opportunities to potential donors. Coordinate the information gathering and planning efforts required to submit successful grant applications on behalf of the District. Write competitive grant proposals and submit in a timely manner. Develop and maintain relationships within local non-profit organizations to maximize opportunities for joint grant applications for the benefit of the District programs and students. Grant Management Develop and maintain a database of progress reporting requirements for grants and contracts, and oversee or complete, as appropriate, compliance requirements. Evaluate and monitor grant program data for reporting purposes and to ensure maximum continuation of funding. Prepare reports on the results to the reporting agency and appropriate district staff as required or requested. Coordinate with the grant fiscal manager for budget development and financial reporting to meet grant deadlines. Coordinate with the grant program manager to ensure all aspects of the grant are fulfilled in a timely manner. Fundraising and Sponsorships Develop partnerships and sponsorships to leverage resources for the District and its students. This may include relationships with other nonprofits, corporations, businesses and individuals. Create and monitor an approval process for fundraising activities and events for schools and District programs. Work with the communications department to develop marketing and public relations messaging concerning sponsorships and grants. Perform other duties as assigned CONTACTS: Federal, State program managers, public and private donors, district leadership and staff, and the general public QUALIFICATIONS: Degree required; graduate degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in fund development, including grant writing, sponsorships, and fundraising. Minimum of 3 years of experience in project/program development, strategic planning, training or facilitation. Experience in program evaluation preferred. Efficient work processes and strong time management and organizational skills. Experience with customer relations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and formal communications. Computer skills: word processing, database development and management, spreadsheets.
