Grant Accountant - Remote

Position: Grant Accountant
We are currently seeking a Grant Accountant to join our team at a prominent nonprofit organization located in Downtown NYC. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accountant, preferably with nonprofit experience in budgeting and government contracts.
The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with the potential for fully remote work in the future, providing flexibility and convenience.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare comprehensive budget-related materials and supporting documents for submission to funders, including continued funding applications, contract renewals, and budget modifications.
- Review payroll reports and compile monthly payroll allocation spreadsheets.
- Manage and track revenue from various funding sources, including monitoring and adjusting accruals, processing checks and electronic transfers, recording contract vouchers, and maintaining payment schedules.
- Generate necessary financial reports related to our portfolio of public and private grants and contracts.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector.
- Proficiency in Excel and other relevant accounting software.
- Knowledge of nonprofit and government grants and contracts.
