The Graduate Nurse provides nursing care to patients on each clinical unit as assigned, utilizing the nursing process. Patient population serviced includes both adolescents and adults. Patients are hospitalized for a broad variety of psychiatric disorders, including mood, anxiety and thought disorders.
Key Job Duties and Responsibilities: Continually assess the physical and emotional needs of each patient. Demonstrates awareness of the key elements of the treatment plans for all assigned patients. Implement quality patient care to assigned patients. Participates in assigned groups/activities to meet the needs of various patient populations and/or diagnostic groups. Assists the RN with patient admissions, discharges and transfers. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited school of nursing as a Registered Nurse - waiting to sit for RN boards. Basic understanding of psychiatric nursing theory and practice with previous psychiatric clinical experience desired. Demonstrate clinical competency in providing general nursing care.
