Provide nursing services to residents in accordance with the scope of the Graduate Nurse as defined by the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing; under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Salary Range: $30 plus shift differentials

What do I need as a GPN with Messiah Lifeways? One (1) year of clinical experience or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or similar (preferred) Certified in CPR by an approved program that meets state and federal regulation Graduate from a Nursing Diploma program or an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing Program Temporary Practice Permit What will I do as a GN with Messiah Lifeways? Under the responsibility of an RN: Display and promote a professional manner and serves as a role model to their staff Supervise, in collaboration with the Clinical Manager and RN nursing supervisors, the health care delivered by the Caregiving Specialist Maintain accurate resident care records Complete 24 hour report sheet each shift Administer medication and treatment as ordered by physician. Receive, review, and transcribe physician's orders. Communicate and act as liaison between staff and the Clinical Manager or Nursing Supervisor Actively participates in orientation and training of new team members Responsible for proper utilization of supplies and equipment by staff Cooperate in providing a safe and pleasant environment and maintaining a high level of morale for residents and nursing personnel Initiate disciplinary procedures as needed for staff Establish and maintain effective interdepartmental working relationships and promote guest relations Arrange for scheduling of appointments and transportation of residents to other departments or outside appointments Coordinate all aspects of admissions, transfers and discharges Make accurate clinical assessments and observations in emergency medical situations Observe and evaluate symptoms and conditions of residents and assure that families and physician are updated and physician orders are followed Plan, implement, and see to completion the resident's plan of care. This plan is written on admission with continuous revisions. Fully aware of the implications of the Resident's Bill of Rights and seeks to promote its intent Follow emergency procedures and responds rapidly and appropriately to emergencies ensuring the safety of the residents and staff Follow proper procedures and promotes safe work practices in order to maintain a safe working environment Work cooperatively and productively with others, including residents, families, and other employees Willingness to work under direction and supervision Maintain confidentiality regarding resident information must be maintained in strict confidence, as well as other information pertaining to the business of Messiah Lifeways Provide effective and thorough shift report to next shift Complete timely and thorough incident and accident reports when required Report any allegation of resident abuse or neglect and missing narcotics promptly to the RN supervisor and assists with the investigation as required Additional duties and tasks as assigned by the Clinical Manager and/or Nursing Supervisor Ability to learn and chart appropriately on a computerized health record/EMAR Messiah Lifeways is an Equal Opportunity Employer that recruits and hires qualified candidates without regard to race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, disability, or veteran status.
