Position: Global Retail Product Accountant (Remote - 18 months+)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a standard costing process for robust cost analysis.
2. Enhance processes for effective Hedging Calculations, considering the global nature of our business.
3. Create detailed Product Profitability reports and forecasts.
4. Lead and provide financial insights in pricing discussions related to demand.
5. Conduct periodic Price/Volume/Mix (PVM) Analysis.
6. Implement and oversee Purchase Price Variance (PPV) calculations post the standard cost process.
7. Analyze and optimize Waste Management processes.
8. Oversee Inventory Management, costing, and reporting.
9. Prepare Intercompany (ICP) documentation, pricing, and communicate effectively with affiliate customers.
10. Conduct Promotional Analysis to evaluate the impact on financials.
11. Lead SKU Rationalization initiatives.
12. Contribute to and manage Special Projects as assigned.
Context and Scope:
In comparison to larger business segments, our financial and operational processes differ significantly. While there are commonalities across the organization, retail-specific processes and reporting present unique challenges. The Pricing area, in particular, offers substantial opportunities for improvement. With over 3,500 SKUs and a complex supply chain, we are seeking a candidate to externally explore and recommend retail-appropriate processes and systems, ensuring robust product-based financial capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 5-7 years of relevant professional experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Knowledge of PowerBI (nice to have but not required).
