Kelly Government Solutions is a strategic supplier and business partner to the federal government and its key suppliers. Through our partnership with the National Institutes of Health, Kelly Government Solutions offers administrative, IT, engineering, scientific, and healthcare professionals the opportunity to work with the leading medical research center in the world. We are seeking an individual to work as a Global Health Writer/Editor at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. This position can support a hybrid work arrangement that is includes telework with occasional on-site work (likely 1 day/week) at the NIH in Bethesda, MD. This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS/SERVICES. The contractor shall:
(1) Produce content for the bimonthly Global Health Matters newsletter, Fogarty International Center (FIC) website, blogs, op-eds, news releases, and other projects
(2) Research topics and conduct literature reviews; cover meetings and other events; interview speakers, staff and grantees.
(3) Produce profiles of early- and mid-career Fogarty trainees.
(4) Generate clearly written text to highlight Fogarty's programs; explain clinical findings, science advances, organizational matters, and other complex topics in lay language
(5) Write and edit text, headlines, captions, and social media posts for articles
(6) Research relevant organizations and draft social media posts related to all newsletter articles and other content.
(7) Research and acquire permission to use visuals to illustrate stories. Catalogue images and usage information using digital asset management tools.
(8) Work with managing editor, designer and web manager to ensure a smooth production process for multimedia content to meet deadlines and update content as needed
(9) Generate story ideas for the Focus sections; manage the editorial calendar; perform content planning for each issue, including strategic and well-developed ideas for the Focus section.
REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:
(1) Minimum of bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or related health/scientific discipline. Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) preferred.
(2) Excellent writing and editing skills and experience distilling complex health and scientific information into clear, compelling articles and multimedia content for a lay audience.
(3) Experience researching complex topics and conducting inciteful interviews.
(4) Background and/or experiences related to global health topics desired
