GFC coordinates day-to-day implementation of the Firm's financial crime prevention efforts. Including governance, oversight, and execution of the Firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-Corruption and Government and Political Activities Compliance programs.If you are passionate about financial crimes prevention, seeking a rewarding and dynamic career, and focused on making a difference, then GFC might be the right team for you.Your Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Head of Governance and Rules Changes for Global Financial Crimes, you will oversee the GFC Governance and Escalation Framework across the regions, as well as the GFC Rules Change Framework. Specific job responsibilities include:GovernanceCollaborating with the GFC Management Committee and GFC Governance and Escalation Committee Chairs to identify GFC-related issues to escalate to senior stakeholders from the business/regionPreparing presentations on GFC escalations and large-scale initiatives for Committees within the GFC Governance and Escalation Framework and the Firm's Non-Financial Risk Framework, including for the Board Audit CommitteeTracking GFC's tolerance levels across key risks, including analyzing changes in the primary risk drivers using qualitative as well as quantitative considerationsMaintaining awareness and identifying significant industry developments that may impact the Firm's business and GFC programRules ChangeMaintaining awareness and identifying significant new or changed financial crimes rules or regulationsAnalyzing and interpreting new or changed rules, including the impact on the GFC program, and communicating to relevant stakeholdersCoordinating GFC's use of the Firm's regulatory change management tool (Themis) and serving as GFC's representative on the Themis Governance ForumTracking compliance with rule change requirements to align to effective date/implementation date of rule, as appropriateOverseeing updates to the GFC Rules Change Framework and related proceduresAnalyzing industry developments and emerging risks, including the impact on the GFC program, and communicating to relevant stakeholdersReporting LinesThis role reports to the GFC Chief Operating Officer and has several direct reports.What We're Looking for in You4 year college degree with outstanding academic credentials10 years professional experience in an Anti-Money Laundering, Legal or Compliance role Detailed understanding of the laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Economic Sanctions, Anti-Corruption, Anti-Tax Evasion, and/or Government and Political Activities ComplianceExcellent PowerPoint presentation skills and attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skills geared towards a senior management audienceExcellent time management skills and ability to execute tasks within tight deadlinesOutstanding interpersonal skills and team-player attitude, necessary to work effectively with colleagues across regions and business unitsStrong understanding of financial services industryExperience managing a small team of compliance professionalsBe certified as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist by ACAMS or equivalent AML certification/license - or certification within 15 months of hireWhere You'll be WorkingThis role will require in office attendance 3 days/week. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
