Job summary
Reporting to the Global Vice President of Operational Excellence, the Global Director of Manufacturing Optimization is accountable for the development of a network map for manufacturing facilities and consolidation plans that align with the business strategies.
Job seniority: director level and above
Responsibilities
• Responsible for all build, transfer, and closure plant projects globally.• Creation and maintenance of the network map and capital classification plan with approval through the leadership team.• Creation and maintenance of the plant closure handbook.• With support from manufacturing technology, create the automation and advanced manufacturing plan which will outline where and when these technologies will be put in place.• Direct and monitor 6 project managers to ensure delivery of on time / on budget projects, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments, and goals of Lubrizol.• Manage and align stakeholders from the business and the operations and provide risk/reward trade-off to business groups for decisions.• Support lab closures.• Communicate and escalate risks that could impact objectives and deliverables.• Monthly update to Leadership team on progress.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in business, engineering, or program management.• Experience in plant closures and product transfers, particularly where customer or regulatory approvals are required.• Minimum 15 years of combined business and Operations/Manufacturing experience.• Proven track record of project management experience, and leading project management groups.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong facilitation capability.• Exceptional critical thinking skills.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, outlook, teams, and SharePoint).• Ability to be organized, problem solve, and be solution oriented.
Key Skills Needed
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt• Chemicals or coatings experience• Expertise in using Planview or MS Project
