Responsibilities:
We are seeking a full-time Genetic Counselor to join our Laboratory of Genetics and Genomics Division within the Department of Lab Medicine & Pathology. In this role, you will support molecular oncology testing, working as part of a collaborative team to interpret tumor-based next-generation sequencing test results and draft reports. Key responsibilities include:
Evaluating cancer variant interpretation
Promoting consistent test reporting standards
Contributing to new test development and implementation
Providing client support for external healthcare providers
Educating genetic counseling graduate students, medical residents, and fellows
This position offers the flexibility of remote work.
Qualifications:
Master of Science or Master of Arts in Genetic Counseling from an ABGC-accredited program
Proficiency in medical, clinical, and laboratory genetics
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to work independently
Computer proficiency for laboratory and clinical case management
ABGC Certification and licensure required
Candidates must complete a 2-year commitment to this position before becoming eligible for internal
