Full job description A Large Recycled Materials Company seeks an experienced General Manager to oversee all aspects of the manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the Regional Vice President, this role is crucial for providing direction to the collection and processing/manufacturing operation. With an annual revenue of over $20 million and a team of around 100 employees, the GM will play a key role in the company's success.
Responsibilities:
Lead site operations in a safe, environmentally compliant, and efficient manner, including tire collections, grading operations, processing operations, maintenance, inventory management, and outbound logistics. Foster a culture of excellence to enhance employee performance, leading by example and spending time on the production floor to drive results. Manage the workforce by ensuring appropriate staffing levels, developing personnel, and allocating resources to achieve safety, financial, and operational objectives. Exceed financial targets by reducing production costs and increasing productivity through data-driven insights and continuous improvement initiatives. Implement and maintain standardized work practices, including SOPs and good housekeeping checklists, while ensuring quality and safety checks are consistently performed. Oversee an effective preventative maintenance program to ensure equipment and facilities meet quality and productivity standards. Support the RVP in sales, potential partnerships, and customer relations/retention efforts. Proactively communicate with leadership regarding site performance and any factors that may impact budget or operational priorities, while fostering knowledge sharing among team members. Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of Recycled Materials Industry experience in a leadership role, with expertise in safety, production, quality, finance, employee development, and inventory management. Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, with a track record of fostering relationships and collaborating effectively with frontline associates. Solid business acumen and attention to detail, with a history of driving change and delivering exceptional safety and business outcomes. Proficiency in all aspects of manufacturing, including safety protocols, production processes, quality control, financial management, continuous improvement, team dynamics, employee relations, customer service, purchasing, and distribution.
