General Foreman - Electrical MaintenanceLocation:Stillwater Mine - Nye, MTSchedule:5x2, 4x3 - 9-hour daysJob Responsibilities and Duties:At Sibanye-Stillwater, the Electrical Maintenance General Foreman is responsible for providing direct supervision for maintenance staff and oversight of hourly personnel, establishing, and maintaining safety and production work standards, continued optimization of maintenance systems, understanding and articulating the specific short term and the general, longer-term goals of the company, budget development and adherence, and is a champion of on-going project initiatives. The General Foreman is the owner and has accountability for achieving the short-term maintenance plan.The Maintenance General Foreman's primary duties are:Operational Leadership:Develop and communicate area goals and initiatives to work group in cooperation with other site managers and general foremen. Work with site senior leadership team in continuing development of a focused, engaged culture throughout the organization. Foster an inclusive environment through cooperation, collaboration, and innovation to ensure that site production and development goals are understood and efficiently supported. Oversees the daily workflow of the department. Foster positive, cooperative relationships with mine operations and other groups in the Company. Develop and execute strategic workforce planning. Be pro-active in all aspects of the maintenance function; safety, environmental, effective and efficient utilization of resources, productivity, continuous Improvement initiatives, and teamwork across the site. Safety and Environmental Compliance:Ensures that safety and environmental excellence is practiced in area of responsibility. Actively support and contribute to development of Safety and Health Management and Environmental systems and regulatory compliance. Ensure compliance of respective area with MSHA regulations. Drive timely and consistent auditing processes with appropriate follow up. Ensure timely completion of quality incident investigations and reporting. Team Management:Interview, hire, and ensure training of new staff in the department. Provides constructive and timely performance management feedback and evaluations for direct reports. Coach and mentor maintenance leadership in accordance with Sibanye Stillwater leadership qualities. Regularly interact with the workforce, demonstrating high level leadership qualities. Hold employees and direct reports accountable in a consistent manner, document performance as required, resolve non-conformance issues, and address employee issues with appropriate resources. Maintain a productive labor relations environment, promoting fair and consistent employment practices. Budget and Cost Control:Lead mobile maintenance team to ensure maximum productivity and equipment availability by safely optimizing operating systems and procedures. Establish and execute one week to three-month maintenance plan that supports the growth of the operation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills:Understanding of safety and environmental procedures, mining, and maintenance functions in the underground mine environment. Ability to communicate with technical specialists and to interpret technical drawings and specification documents. Understanding and experience in reliability, maintenance concepts and principals (predictive and preventative maintenance) Experienced in planning and scheduling of maintenance and project activities. Well established communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and record keeping skills. Able to analytically and rationally make decisions. Demonstrable experience and skills include:Understanding of underground mining operations and maintenance processes. Ability to conduct Critical Task Analysis and develop Standard Operating Procedures. General knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements . Understanding of company policies, procedures and standards. Utilization of HR, Safety, and Environmental resources to expand knowledge of noted areas above. Willingness to learn and apply modern-day technology to improve reliability. Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite to include Word and Excel) and other department specific systems. Support implementation of business and supporting systems Independent working habits Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma and 5 or more years of underground mine experience in a supervisory role; or relevant bachelor's degree in Reliability, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering or equivalent and 2 years work experience in a supervisory role. Post-Secondary education in a relevant field is preferred. Experience with MSHA regulations Project management experience requiring maintaining a budget, intra-departmental resource coordination, timeline for delivery, etc. is preferred.
