Position SummaryOne temporary hourly-intermittent Work Study student assistant position available in Advancement Services department.Start DatePosition available on or after September 15, 2023 and ending on or before May 31, 2024. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.Job Description/DutiesUnder the direct supervision of the Director of Annual Giving and Philanthropic Services, this position will assist in greeting visitors to the suite, answering phones and directing calls, updating database records and providing general clerical assistance. The incumbent will be exposed to the philanthropic workings of the University. Training will be provided.Duties include but are not limited to:Database - After adequate training, input and edit data in the database. Hospitality - Answer and direct incoming calls and take/deliver messages as necessary. Greet visitors to the suite and provide assistance when possible.Mail - Assist with incoming/outgoing mail distribution . Campus deliveries.Events - Assist with special events including, but not limited to greeting guests, recording attendance, event set up and break down.Files - scan files to reduce paper storage, shredding as directed.Digital - perform internet research as directed, clip news articles and obituaries for records, serve as an expert on the use of the smart room technology.Mailings - assist with printing, collating and stuffing mail materials.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.Required Qualifications:Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.Must have received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying.
