Job Purpose To effectively and efficiently check in patients, verify insurance eligibility, confirm and/or reschedule appointments as needed, and collect payments for services provided.
Qualifications/ Skill Sets Excellent customer/patient service and verbal communication skills.Ability to read, write, speak and understand information and effectively present information one-on-one with patients.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out details written or verbally instructed.Basic computer knowledge and experience with dental management software experience. Denticon experience is preferred.Ability to work in fast paced, patient-focused environment.Detail oriented. Dental Receptionist must be aware of and follow insurance plan rules and protocols.Interpersonal skills. Sometimes patients are in pain and/or mental stress. The Dental Receptionist should be patient and sensitive to patient emotions.Listening skills. Dental Receptionist must be able to listen to patients and other healthcare workers and follow directions from a Dentist or supervisor.Organizational skills. Dental Receptionist should have excellent organizational skills; insure all record keeping requirements are fully and accurately completed.Requires excellent customer service skills.Previous dental office experience preferred but not required.
