This position will report to the Director of Institutional Giving and work closely with that position and the Development team to meet ambitious multi-million dollar foundation fundraising targets by cultivating and renewing grants from institutional donors, as well as securing gifts from new prospective funders. The Foundations Manager will lead on grants and knowledge management and reporting, develop compelling funder-facing proposals and materials, support events and in-person meetings, and ensure effective stewardship of our portfolio of institutional donors.We are hiring for this position immediately. This position is full-time, with a salary range starting at $65,650 per year, commensurate with experience. To uphold organizational parity and pay equity, we use a non-negotiable salary system that takes into consideration the entire breadth of a candidate's experience, employment, and education to arrive at their final starting base salary. In addition, Indivisible provides a robust benefits package including full medical/dental/vision/life coverage, a professional development stipend, and an employer matched 401(k) plan.To be considered, please submit your resume by May 15, 2024.Responsibilities Grants Management & Donor Stewardship (60%)Steward and grow a portfolio of five figure grants, as well as support the Director of Institutional Giving's portfolio of six and seven figure grants from new and existing institutional donors, including private and family foundationsLead on grants management, including working closely with Finance staff to ensure compliance for 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) arms of the organizationTrack all deadlines for grant reports and ensure timely completion of deliverables, including coordinating cross-team approvals for report finalizationManage grant processing, including tracking checks, wires, and online contributions; drafting and working with the team to send acknowledgements; and working closely with Finance staff to ensure complianceWork across departments to draft and prepare targeted proposals, narrative reports, and timely updates tailored to donors' interests, requirements, and type of supportLead on first drafts of stewardship for campaign-specific updates, briefs, renewal asks, grant reports, the annual report, and follow-up messages tailored to donors' interests and type of support, working across teams to manage stories from Indivisible groups to include in materials to fundersArrange calls, webinars, and other stewardship opportunities for funders and advisorsLead knowledge and data management for the Foundations team, developing and managing the day-to-day processes and systems to accurately record key information on grants, as well as both past and future outreachProspect Research & Cultivation (25%)Expand our network of potential funders through prospect research; support Director of Institutional Giving in developing and implementing cultivation strategiesLead on developing first drafts of briefs and research for funder meetings.Help coordinate fundraising trips, including by assisting with data management, prospecting, outreach, and prepping travel briefs and materials for trips and donor meetings for co-executive directors and other leadership team members.Other Development Team Responsibilities (15%)Coordinate quarterly internal fundraising newsletter, alongside Sr. Foundations Manager, and contribute to cultivating a culture of philanthropy at the organization.Lead with monthly credit card reconciliation and other administrative tasks for the development team.Lead on project management for Indivisible's annual report.Collaborate effectively across departments within the organization.Other responsibilities as assignedRequired Qualifications (including education, experience, and knowledge/skills/abilities):Three to five years of experience in development/fundraising, including at least two years in foundation fundraising, including grants managementAt least two years experience managing donor databases, tracking, and reporting (Salesforce preferred)Superior writing skills, including the ability to quickly and collaboratively draft development materials and tailor documents for different donors, including successful grant proposals and reportsDemonstrated experience managing numerous grants at one time, with familiarity and understanding of private and family foundation grant requirements, working with internal and foundation staff to manage the different processes to ensure all deliverables and deadlines are metBudgeting skills and familiarity with financial grants managementExcellent research, communication, and interpersonal skillsAlignment on the core values and strategies of the Indivisible ProjectDesired Qualifications (including education, experience, and knowledge/skills/abilities) :Experience working with organizations that have both 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) entities strongly preferredExperience with institutional donors interested in democracy reform issues preferred but not requiredExperience using Salesforce preferred but not requiredAbout the Indivisible ProjectWe're building something new.We're a progressive grassroots organization that began in the aftermath of Trump's election.
