Position Summary
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Medical Center. The employee shall support Saddleback Medical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.
Performs a variety of food service tasks including high quality assembly and distribution of food, operation of food service equipment, dishwashing, and setup of patient, cafeteria, and physician's lounge areas. Maintains a clean and safe work environment for customers and employees.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
1. Provides excellent customer service to patients, customers, and fellow employees
2. Consistently applies infection control policies/procedures and follows HAACP guidelines
3. Assists in preparing and serving patient, cafeteria, and/or catered meals
4. Receives and stores requisitioned food and supplies accurately
5. Operates and cleans equipment in a safe and sanitary manner
6. Follows department policies and procedures, including cash handling
7. Assists in proper cleaning of all dishes and pots including manual dishwashing and using the dish machine
8. Assists in patient tray assembly as needed
9. "Other duties as assigned"
*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. • Ability to understand written and verbal communication in English
• Previous restaurant or acute care hospital foodservice experience preferred Education/Licensure/Certification:
• High School diploma or GED preferred
