?? Production Manager ?? SmartHire is looking for a Production Manager for a client on the Eastside. This is a Direct Hire position. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years as a Production Manager within the Food Production industry. In addition, auditing, developing, training and hiring experience required and a Bachelor along with a HACCP certification.
Salary: $115k - $130k DOE – bonus

Schedule: M-F 7am – 5pm – flexibility required
The primary mission of this position is to facilitate, direct and manage production to sustain a high level of performance and continuous improvement in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, reliability, cost control, team development and employee engagement. This position ensures that the plant is consistently operating in compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures. This position is responsible for managing a team with 4 supervisors and 100+ hourly employees.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities  · Lead efforts to create a positive and proactive safety culture and eliminate injuries.
· Ensure a safe and clean working environment, correct unsafe conditions, and encourage employees to report safety issues.
· Train, coach and direct employees on safety procedures, PPE, and the safe operation of all equipment.
· Maintain compliance with safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
· Ensure that a quality product is produced "right first time" by maintaining and enforcing strict quality standards and manufacturing specifications.
· Ensure the highest quality of product is produced within Good Manufacturing Practices as they apply to the production of the product.
· Maintain shift performance and quality documentation.
· Lead and ensure compliance with Global Food Safety Standards, GMPs and HACCP plans.
· Actively participate in audits.
· Oversee and implement the production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, monitoring results and progress, revising schedules as needed, trouble shooting and resolving problems, and reporting/communicating results and issues.
· Lead the development and communication of standard operating procedures for production duties.
· Effectively lead, motivate, engage, and train team to assure superior levels of safety, quality, reliability, productivity, and sanitation.
· Create a team–based environment encouraging open communication and seeking input regarding production, safety, and quality issues.
· Analytically and systematically, troubleshoot manufacturing and maintenance issues and develop the team to be self-directed in the same activities.
· Collaborate effectively and cross-functionally with peers and management to improve plant performance and prevent or resolve potential shortages in staffing, ingredients, or equipment.
· Oversee the development of short and long-term operating objectives in areas such as cost reduction, quality improvement, new product development and/or integration as undertaken at the plant level.
· Develop continuous improvement project teams to improve safety, quality, reliability, sanitation and reduce waste.
· Remain current on matters relating to production methods, formulations, analytical techniques, and federal regulations as they relate to the company's products.
Qualifications · 5+ years as a Production Manager within Food Manufacturing industry
· Bachelor's Degree in related field
· HACCP certified
· BRC and/or SQF audit experience
· Knowledge and experience managing food safety regulations and training
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and manage a diverse workforce focused on results, employee engagement, decision making and teamwork
· Opened-minded and receptive to change while supporting the company goals and initiatives.
· Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
· Strong analytical and decision-making skills, able to identify problems; apply structured and disciplined methodology to identify root causes
· Strong PC skills and experience with ERP s.
· Must possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
