The fixed plant components and parts strategy specialist provides technical input from site to Supply Chain Management and strategic to ensure procurement and inventory strategies enable Newmont's asset strategies to effectively deliver the expected asset reliability, availability and operational performance.. This collaboration ensures timely and quality maintenance parts, equipment, and services are provided from external suppliers driven by proactive demand forecasting with consideration of supplier capabilities, logistics, inventory and risks.This role draws on expertise as a strategic problem solver, project manager, communicator, technical subject matter expert, and problem solver.Key outcomes include:Support Supply Chain Management (SCM) to ensure component and parts procurement and inventory strategies support meeting Newmont best practice and site-specific needs.Your role will consist ofHere is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:Safety and HealthWe demonstrate proactive leadership in achieving a global Newmont culture of safety and health. We actively promote Newmont's safety standards and improvement initiatives. Audit SAP FLOC structures and BOM's to ensure equipment components and criticality are correct and work with strategic group to make changes as need. We facilitate timely and transparent information flow to SC from site regarding equipment criticality, vendor changes, OEM strategy updates, and other critical information. We work with SC to determine the best option for holding inventory, held as stock and handled using SAP. We identify business risk implications from site of spares to support inventory targets. We establish site AM targets for inventory availability, with consideration of criticality to the operation, equipment reliability, planned usage. We audit site inventory to meet demand and work with site Supply Chain teams to continuously improve their ability to meet requirements. We define and document offsite repairs criteria for critical components including ensuring appropriate repair specifications are in place, warranty requirements are met and trained personnel are present during quality assurance. We work with SCM for component rebuild strategies, and new equipment and part purchases. We assist component life assessment and gap analysis and compile feedback for vendors. The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.Your training, skills, and experience checklistHere is what we need to see from you!Education:Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system experience and understanding desirable. Strong understanding of planning and reliability principles. Experience:5-7 years of work experience in a heavy industry, ideally fixed plant Maintenance Experience with supply chain management and quality assurance desirable. Experience with manual and computerized maintenance planning systems desirable. Skills and Abilities:Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to drive performance improvement initiatives in a complex and global organization. Ability to quickly assess information to diagnose problems and opportunities, with a track record of strong professional judgment and critical thinking. Ability to lead collaborators and tasks both in-person and virtually. Ability to work flexibly to meet the frequent out of normal office hours requirements of leading a global team and project. Ability to lead collaborators across Newmont including within operations, supply chain, and external partners including vendors and contractors. Ability to work collaboratively in a high performing, multi-disciplined, diverse team. Inter-personal relationship skills and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively prioritize jobs in order of importance.Working conditions and locationPosition is site based in Colorado. Flexible hours required to accommodate nature of work. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
