This position will be responsible for assisting the Finishing (Gluer) Operators with daily production on our lines by feeding, catching or case sealing our finishing folding cartons.We offer our full-time employees the following benefits:Paid VacationMedical/Dental/Vision BenefitsPaid Holidays401kEmployee Discounts; Health Benefit DiscountsOpportunities to advancePaid LunchesPrimary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:Locate proper raw materials for operations in staging areaVerify quantities with job jacket and check for packing instructions i.e. cases, count, configurationCreate / Obtain case labels as requiredVerify batch numbers and labeling and quality while placing cartons into cases as specified in packaging proceduresVerify load tags at feed section of gluerInspect unfolded/unglued cartons prior to feed to identify defects related to printing or die cutting.Maintains feed section of gluer by placing product to be glued in feed in an orderly manner.Monitor mirrors from feed position to detect machine jams / malfunctions.Perform visual quality inspection of folded/glued containersCommunicates all quality issues to machine operatorMaintain work area by collecting unused raw materials, dispose of waste materials and store packing equipment (scales, code guns, tape guns, etc.)Communicate equipment problems to supervisorCommunicate supervisor of any packaging problemsFollow prescribed safety policiesPerforms other related duties as assignedComply with all company rules, regulations and safety requirementsAn individual in this position must be able to learn and demonstrate the following skills;Use of packing equipment (tape guns, scales, code guns, etc.)Use of a hand jackEssential Job Functions include the following:Physical Requirements:Occasionally (1-10% of the time) lift up to10 poundsFrequently (11-33% of the time) lift up to 50 poundsFrequently (34-66% of the time) walkingOccasionally (1-33% of the time) bending, squatting, reaching above the shoulder, stretching, twisting, pushing, pulling, carrying, walking, kneeling, stooping, and fingeringPush/Pull force of 50 poundsFrequently (34-66% of the time) reach at waist or lower and graspContinuously (at least 67% of the time) standingNot at all (0% of the time) sitting or crawlingMust be able to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which includes; safety glasses, steel toed-shoes, ear plugs and cut resistant gloves. Per our quality standards, you must also wear a hair-netJob Requirements:At least one year of professional working experience, preferred in a manufacturing environmentSkills: Mechanical, Communication, Mathematical aptitude requiredAble to read, comprehend and write legiblyAble to use basic arithmetic skills; ability to use a calculatorAble to use hand jacksPosition will either works 12-hour shift (day or night) which follows a 2-2-3 day schedule OR a 10-hour day shift that works 5-days per week, either 1st shift, 6am-4pm or 2nd shift, 4pm-2am;Must be willing and able to work overtime during the week and weekends if it's required based on production needs and vacation coverageJob Preferences:High School Diploma/GED preferredPrevious manufacturing experience
