The Department of Medicine has 11 divisions, more than 300 employees and more than $68 million in expenditures annually. The mission of the Department of Medicine is to deliver accessible, patient-centered healthcare of the highest caliber while training compassionate, visionary and innovative clinicians and researchers. We develop, teach and practice state-of-the-art, evidenced-based medicine that holds the promise of a better future for the people of California and beyond.
Provide financial assistance support to assigned Divisions in the areas of clinical billing and financial transactions. Reconcile billing data with source material to ensure procedures are accurately billed. Perform purchasing and process reimbursements for the Division consistent with University policy. Advise faculty and staff of policies for travel and entertainment reimbursements. Reconcile expenses to general ledgers and provide financial statements to faculty on a monthly basis. $26.92 - $46.36 (Hourly Rate) Required: Two years of experience in physician billing, purchasing or other accounting functions. Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Working knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures. Strong knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems. Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software. Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making. Ability to function effectively as a member of a team. Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred: Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and Tableau Professional software tools Skills to provide coaching and mentoring to support staff. Special Conditions Required: Must pass a background check.Occasionally support events outside of work hours. Conditions of Employment:
