About the Role:Cars.com is seeking an Intern to assist the Performance Analysis team responsible for forecasting, reporting on and analyzing key operating metrics in order to provide Cars Commerce leadership with the best forward-looking information available to make critical business decisions and understand previous performance so that we will become better predictors of the future.Responsibilities include:Producing monthly and quarterly financial variance reporting of actuals to forecast, budget and prior yearCollaborating with business partners to identify business drivers of key metrics to develop outlooks for the month and forecasts for the remainder of the yearTurning variance analysis into business insights to better inform senior management to make critical business decisions and improve forecasting accuracyProviding insights and counsel to key business partners to ensure that performance targets are achieved in the most efficient means possibleLeveraging current performance reporting to conduct sensitivity analysis, trend analysis, and business case modeling, as applicableAssisting with compiling, updating, and improving database detailing project work by hour including designated capitalizable work and individual performanceDirectly support and report to the Senior Analyst with Daily / Monthly analysesAbout YOU:Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and strong focus on accuracyAbility to meet deadlines within a fast-paced environmentAbility to follow set standards in order to maintain consistency of deliverablesDesire to continuously improve, learn, including beyond just his/her area of responsibility.
