NorthPoint Health and Wellness is seeking a Financial Case Aide to join their team. This position will work closely with residents and insurance providers on various tasks such as determining cost effective health insurance, c alculating and issuing reimbursement payments to residents, and e ntering and uploading payment information onto Hennepin County computer systems.  


Location and hours: This position is onsite and will be performed at the NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center, 2220 Plymouth Avenue, North  Minneapolis, MN 55411 , Work hours will be Monday through Friday, with typical hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

 
About the position type:
This is a full-time, benefit-earning position. 
This position is internally classified as a Financial Case Aide.
Click here to view the job classification specification. In this position, you will: Receive and determine cost effective health insurance for medical assistant caseload. Update third party liability insurance on the Minnesota Medical Information System (MMIS) system. Request third party insurance information from residents and insurance providers. Bill DHS for the amount Hennepin County paid out to residents. Assist human service representatives with questions related to cost effective health insurance. Enter and upload payment information onto Hennepin County computer systems. Issue checks for various emergency programs. Provide team coverages and assist accounts payable staff. Need to have: One of the following: Two years or more of relevant experience performing transactions, mathematics, or accounting. Two years or more of college coursework in business, finance, communication, or customer service. Completion of a two-year Human Services Certificate program. Associate degree or higher in Human Services. Nice to have: Experience: Working on an integrated team of eligibility service workers and external partners.  Using computer programs such as MAXIS, MMIS, and electronic case files (ECF) to  performing data entry where accuracy is essential. Ability to: Work with a culturally diverse staff and client population. Read and apply policies and procedures. Proficiency in using a variety of personal computer software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook. Accounting skills.
