About the role:

As the Finance Director at Love in Faith, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial direction of our rapidly growing e-commerce business. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support our growth objectives. This position reports directly to the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) and collaborates closely with senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy and Planning:

Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives and long-term vision
Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, providing insights and recommendations to optimize financial performance
Analyze financial data, market trends, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks

Financial Operations Management:

Oversee all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP
Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance

Cash Flow Management:

Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and working capital management to optimize cash resources and meet financial obligations
Coordinate with treasury functions and banking partners to optimize banking relationships and cash management strategies

Banking and Financial Relationships:

Manage banking relationships, negotiate banking terms, and oversee banking transactions, including loans, credit lines, and merchant services
Monitor bank accounts, reconcile statements, and ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions

Strategic Growth Initiatives:

Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives to drive revenue growth, improve profitability, and enhance shareholder value
Evaluate potential investments, partnerships, and acquisitions, conducting financial analysis and due diligence to support decision-making
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement

Budget Management and Cost Optimization:

Manage the company's budgeting process, tracking expenses, and variances against budgeted targets
Identify opportunities for cost optimization, efficiency improvements, and resource allocation to maximize ROI
Work cross-functionally with departments to align spending with strategic priorities and business objectives

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

Prepare and present financial reports, analysis, and forecasts to senior management, board of directors, and investors
Conduct variance analysis, profitability analysis, and scenario modeling to support decision-making and strategic planning
Communicate financial insights and recommendations effectively to stakeholders, providing actionable insights for business growth

Performance Marketing Analysis:

Collaborate closely with the marketing team to develop and track marketing performance KPIs, such as customer acquisition cost (CAC), return on ad spend (ROAS), and lifetime value (LTV) of customers
Provide financial analysis and insights to optimize marketing spend, ROI, and campaign effectiveness
Evaluate marketing strategies, channels, and campaigns to drive customer engagement, retention, and revenue growth

Data Management and Analysis:

Demonstrate high proficiency in data management, including data cleansing, manipulation, and analysis using tools like Google Sheets, Tableau, and Power BI
Experience working with unstructured data with no ERP system
Leverage data-driven insights to optimize business processes, improve decision-making, and drive performance improvements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven strategies and initiatives for growth and efficiency

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
Proven experience (10+ years) in a senior finance role, preferably in e-commerce growth
Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting
Experience with e-commerce financial metrics and high growth business models is a plus
Expertise in managing overseas staff and collaborating effectively across global teams
Expertise in e-commerce apparel industry trends, market dynamics, and consumer behavior
Proficiency in data cleansing, manipulation, and analysis using Google Sheets, Tableau, Power BI, and other data management tools
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and drive results in a rapidly changing market landscape

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk and hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person, over the telephone, and/or via video conference

Emotional Demands

Data analysis & interpretation. You will have to process and review a lot of information from a variety of sources, understand how data is collected, assess data quality, and how to use the information
Communication skills. You need to have advanced communication skills in both oral and written form. Emails and written communication with colleagues and external partners, written reports for senior executives. Able to communicate complex financial information to people outside of the finance department
Comfortable with technology. Able to navigate data through computers, mobile, software, databases. Stay up to date with technology advances
Oriented to detail. Financial forecasts rely on projections which can be impacted by even minor changes in sales patterns, consumer sentiment, economic shifts, competitor changes, etc. You will need to be attuned to small changes in all streams of data
Confident decision-making skills. You will need to review data and make sound decisions on what actions to take and make confident recommendations to senior management. You may need to make decisions quickly with limited amounts of information in urgent situations
